Properties of TMT Bars

Depending upon the structure there are a couple of metrics of TMT bars which need to be taken into consideration.

Strength

Different grades of TMT bars come with their degrees of strength. Large structures such as airports and harbours use Fe600. They are known for their strength and make perfect for structures where function matter than form. Don’t expect these TMT bars will be easy to bend. Homeowners can go for the dependable Fe415, perfect for homes with earthquake resistant build and bendability. Fe 500 suits perfectly for bridges and underground structures.

Bending/Re-bendability

Fe600 and Fe550 scores poorly here, there is no reason for them to score high marks here anyway. Structures using these grades not exactly known for their beautiful aesthetics.

Elongation

TMT bars high on elongation can withstand natural calamities with ease, Fe415 scores high on elongation. Their excellence bendability and re bendability means beautiful structures.

Corrosive resistance

Almost of the TMT Steel bars score similarly when it comes to corrosive resistance, it has to be mentioned that most TMT bars are coated with water-resistant materials.

Given all the advantages of TMT bars, they have become the backbone of the modern construction process. Their durability and longevity makes it more logical to use them.
